For nearly three decades, The Guest House at Weathervane Farm has been a place of rest, warmth, and welcome—where families gathered, students were celebrated, and travelers found beauty in the quiet rhythms of the countryside. What began as a vision to host Colgate University families with heart and hospitality has grown into something more: a living legacy of connection, care, and comfort.

To the guests who have stayed with us over the years—thank you. Whether you found us through word of mouth, returned each fall for move-in weekend, or discovered a bit of magic during a winter stay, you've become part of the fabric of this place. Your presence, stories, and joy have shaped The Guest House into more than a destination. You've made it a home.

And now, we’re excited to begin a new chapter.

We’re currently undertaking a full renovation of The Guest House—an opportunity to restore and reimagine the spaces with a deeper sense of intention. Our vision blends everything this place has always stood for—family, nature, and a warm welcome—with a renewed commitment to sustainability and wellness-driven design.

From reclaimed materials and biophilic principles to energy-efficient systems and heirloom furnishings, every choice we make is guided by care—for the environment, for our guests, and for the future. We’re thinking holistically about the guest experience, so that each stay not only feels beautiful and restful, but meaningful, too.
